Keltec Storage Assessment Service

Information Lifecycle Management

Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) is concerned with all aspects of data storage within the enterprise. The lifecycle follows data from creation, through primary use such as search/retrieve, and backup/recovery, into archive, long–term storage and finally secure and verifiable deletion. Different tools and techniques are available for each of these stages, with differing requirements being placed on the infrastructure where the data is stored.

Keltec is able to provide a full range of services and associated infrastructure in order to address business issues at every stage of the lifecycle:

Data profiling:
This service includes details of how often data is accessed, how many duplicate files there are, and how much non–company data is present (e.g. mp3 files). This service generates the information required to form a coherent and holistic data management strategy.

SAN/NAS architecture review:
This service reviews the current enterprise server configuration. Risks to the quality and availability of your IT service are identified through an analysis that identifies gaps or risks within your enterprise storage.

SAN/NAS design & implementation review:
This service provides an architecture design proposal detailing the solution approach, technology design aligned to best practices and the overall project plan.

Keltec’s ILM Services provide a convenient, cost–effective method to reduce risk through the identification of any high availability issues, before they significantly impact your business operations.

Keltec is also able to assist with backup infrastructure and software (including virtual tape libraries), site–to–site replication for disaster recovery, data archiving solutions and corporate search engines.
